Overview

The Osage Oracle is seeking a motivated Advertising Manager to sell both print and digital advertising for our weekly newspaper. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with local businesses, building strong relationships, and helping a community newspaper thrive. This is a commission-based position with significant earning potential for the right individual.

Position Focus

This position is centered on advertising sales. You will work with local businesses, organizations, and community partners to create effective advertising solutions across print and digital platforms—supporting both their growth and strong local journalism in Osage.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell print advertising in the weekly Osage Oracle
• Sell digital advertising, including website ads, e-edition placements, social media advertising, and sponsored content
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local business owners and organizations
• Develop simple advertising ideas or collaborate with our design team to create effective ads
• Manage sales leads, client communication, and follow-ups independently
• Represent The Osage Oracle professionally within the community

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in sales, advertising, or marketing (newspaper or small-town experience is a plus)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
• Basic understanding of digital and social media advertising is helpful but not required

• Commission-based compensation

• Flexible schedule with work based in Osage and partially remote
