Description:


Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) provide opportunities to experiential learning and application. Students can explore different careers by applying their skills to real-world competitive events and completing yearlong programs that promote career exploration. CTSOs also provide the opportunity for leadership development and skill attainment. CTSOs focus on building the next generation of leaders, quickly adapting to soft and workplace skills that reflect industry standards.

CTSOs should include curricula to:

  • Keep students involved and motivated in CTE
  • Develop strong leadership skills
  • Develop work-based skills and employment ethics
  • Encourage students to achieve high academic skills
  • Enhance self-esteem and self confidence
  • Assist students in developing high occupational standards
  • Teach students about business partnerships and networking

Requirements:

  • Advisors must hold monthly after-school chapter meetings. At least 25% of membership must be present at monthly meetings.
  • Advisors must post monthly meeting attendance and meeting minutes on communication platform and send them to CTE coordinator by the end of each month.
  • Advisor must report awards, recognitions, and/or special events to CTE coordinator.
  • Advisor must maintain a balanced activity account.
  • Advisor and at least 25% of membership must participate in at least one organization recognized activity each semester.
  • Advisor and at least 25% of membership must participate in at least one new member recruitment event by April 1st.
  • Advisor and at least 25% of membership must participate in at least one fundraiser event by May 1st.
  • Advisor and at least 25% of membership must host and/or participate in at least one community service project or events by the end of the year.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience preferred
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently walk, stoop, bend, and sit. The noise level in the work environment ranges from mild to loud.
