We are seeking a passionate intern to join our advisory team on a full-time basis during summer 2026. This role can be based in New York!

As an intern on our Advisory Building Performance Team, you will work on energy and whole-life carbon analysis for multi-scaled projects including high-performance buildings, campus, and cities, including projects featuring net-zero energy and carbon, Living Building Challenge certified projects, LEED certified projects, and calibrated modeling for performance based decarbonization upgrades. You will work closely with our MEP engineers and sustainability and energy advisory experts and will be technically and creatively challenged on projects that include design support and innovation, strategy and policy development, high-performance strategies, materials research, energy, carbon, water and waste analysis and modelling, etc. From helping shape cities, to adapting infrastructure to deal with climate emergencies, a career at Buro Happold presents the chance to make a difference.

Your key duties: As an intern on our advisory team, you will be technically and creatively challenged on projects that include design support and innovation, strategy and policy development, high-performance strategies, materials research, energy, carbon, water and waste analysis and modelling, etc. From helping shape cities, to adapting infrastructure to deal with climate emergencies, a career at Buro Happold presents the chance to make a difference.
The successful candidate will be currently pursuing a bachelor or master’s degree in architectural Engineering, energy engineering, mechanical or civil engineering, urban planning & development, environmental engineering, Economics and Real Estate, Public Policy, environmental science or similar.
