Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified Advocate with 2–3 years of practical experience in Indian Labour & Employment Laws, with strong exposure to the New Labour Codes notified by the Government of India. The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advisory, drafting, compliance support, and coordination with statutory authorities.
Key Responsibilities

Provide legal advisory on Indian Labour Law matters including:

Code on Wages, 2019
-
Industrial Relations Code, 2020
-
Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHW) Code, 2020
-
Social Security Code, 2020
-
Draft and review employment-related documents such as offer letters, HR policies, appointment letters, disciplinary notices, standing orders, and compliance checklists.

Assist in implementation and transition to the new Labour Codes, including gap analysis and policy restructuring.

Ensure compliance with state-specific labour rules, Shops & Establishments Act, Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition), Maternity Benefit Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, and other applicable central and state laws.

Handle labour law registrations, renewals, maintenance of statutory registers, and filing of periodic returns.

Coordinate and liaise with labour departments, inspectors, and government authorities as required.

Conduct internal audits on labour law compliance for clients/organisation.

Draft legal opinions, case notes, and compliance reports.

Support HR teams in handling employee grievances, disciplinary proceedings, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised Indian university.

Enrolment with a State Bar Council.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Labour & Employment Law practice within India.

Strong understanding of central and state-specific labour laws and the upcoming implementation of the New Labour Codes.

Proficient in legal drafting, research, interpretation of statutes, and compliance procedures.

Ability to interact with government authorities and handle inspections.

Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and handle multi-jurisdictional labour law matters.
Preferred Experience

Prior experience with law firms, compliance consultancies, or in-house legal teams focusing on labour law matters.

Experience assisting organisations with transition-related preparations for the New Labour Codes.

Knowledge of practical compliance mechanisms and HR process advisory.
