Aerial Coax Lineman

Job Overview
Join our team as an Aerial Coax Lineman and play a key role in supporting network expansion and maintenance projects across Buffalo, NY and Albany, NY. In this hands-on field position, you will be responsible for performing aerial coax splicing, equipment replacement, and system troubleshooting to ensure reliable network performance.

This role is primarily ladder-based, requiring work from extension ladders on utility poles rather than relying solely on bucket trucks. You will work in outdoor environments, handle physical tasks such as carrying ladders and equipment, and travel within assigned markets as needed. We are seeking experienced professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and meeting project timelines in a fast-paced field environment.

Up to 6 positions needed in each market

  • Per Diem: $130/day
  • Preferred: Candidate-owned van or truck suitable for ladder transport
  • Company vehicle available if needed

Duties

  • Perform aerial coax splicing on utility poles using extension ladders (up to 24 ft)
  • Support underground (UG) coax splicing, including accessing pedestals, vaults, and handholes as needed
  • Complete amplifier (amp) and node replacements according to system design and specifications
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting using client-provided dongle tools via smartphone
  • Read and interpret network prints, node maps, and splice documentation to identify work locations
  • Complete accurate documentation and close-out packages using client software
  • Maintain clean, professional installations that meet company and client quality standards
  • Safely handle and transport ladders, tools, and equipment in field environments
  • Work efficiently to meet production targets and project deadlines

Experience

  • Proven experience in aerial coax splicing (underground experience preferred)
  • Experience with amp and node replacement in a telecom environment
  • Ability to work from extension ladders and climb up to 24 feet
  • Experience working in outdoor field environments and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to read and interpret telecom prints and system layouts
  • Familiarity with field testing and troubleshooting tools
  • Ability to travel within assigned markets (Buffalo, Albany) as needed
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and meeting deadlines

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
