This position is responsible for calculating and managing weekly aero configurations and appropriate aero map offsets. Collaborate with the race engineering group to determine optimal body/underwing build and platform for each race. Develop aero tools for use in simulation and trackside. Support driver in the loop simulation, wind tunnel, and track testing.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Calculate and manage weekly aero configurations for vehicle simulation

Calculate appropriate as built vehicle aero map offsets for each race

Collaborate with race engineering group on optimal body, underwing, and platform configurations for each race

Validate aero maps and offsets with track data

Develop aero tools for use in simulation and trackside

Support driver in the loop sessions, wind tunnel testing, and track testing as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS

1-3 years of work-related experience with aero performance tool generation and use.

Proficiency in coding with tools such as matlab and python

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or similar

Strong data analysis and fitting skills

Motorsports or automobile experience desired
