  • Job Summary: The Aerodynamics Engineer will lead the preliminary aerodynamic

design of StratoShift, ensuring optimal flight performance for a 200 km range, 30 kg

payload capacity, and BVLOS operations. This full-time role involves analyzing lift,

drag, stability, and propulsion requirements, collaborating with the team to integrate

these into the UAS concept.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed aerodynamic analysis using computational fluid dynamics

(CFD) tools to optimize airframe design.

  • Define wing and propeller configurations to support a 30 kg payload and 4–6

hour flight time.

  • Assess flight envelope (e.g., speed 20–50 m/s, altitude 120–1000 m) and

environmental factors (e.g., wind up to 15 m/s).

  • Collaborate with Aerostructures and Avionics Engineers to align

aerodynamic design with structural, FCS, telemetry, BMS, ESC, HMS, DAA,

Navigation, Communication, PDS, ERS, payload management, and GCS

requirements.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports, simulations, and design iterations for

review.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related

field.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent,

OpenFOAM), CATIA, aerodynamic modeling, and wind tunnel testing

principles.

  • Experience: 3–5 years in UAS or aircraft aerodynamics, with proven

preliminary design experience.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of lift-to-drag ratios, stability derivatives, and

propulsion integration.

  • Tools: Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink for simulations and CAD tools (e.g.,

SolidWorks).

  • Expectations:
  • Deliver a detailed aerodynamic model within 2–3 months, including drag

estimates, flight performance data, and optimization recommendations.

  • Commit 40 hours/week to drive rapid progress in the preliminary design

phase.

  • Provide leadership in aerodynamic design, ensuring compatibility with a

modular payload system and all avionics systems.

  • Actively collaborate with the team to refine design iterations and meet

project milestones.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹271,854.74 - ₹1,053,538.59 per year
