Aerospace Technical Writer & Researcher

OVERVIEW:

The Aerospace Technical Writer & Researcher is a skilled writer and researcher with proven experience and passion for the aerospace sector, especially emerging commercial space (“NewSpace”) to develop compelling, accurate, and persuasive content for the high growth aerospace sector. This role focuses on producing client deliverables, technical documentation, and business growth products (aerospace narrative only, not BD process management). The ideal candidate combines strong writing skills, research acumen, and presence to engage in teaming and client discussions to help craft arguments that advance growth opportunities in the aerospace sector.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Support the Director of Aerospace Strategy in the following:

• Write and edit high-quality technical and client deliverables across aerospace projects and pursuits.
• Develop persuasive business growth content (e.g., white papers, presentations, proposal content) that communicates value clearly.
• Research aerospace topics, technologies, companies, and market trends to inform accurate and relevant writing.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for varied audiences (e.g., executives, engineers, policymakers, decision-makers, clients).
• Participates in problem-solving meetings to develop market pursuits and resolve client delivery issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure content alignment for technical accuracy and BD compliance.
• Lead and support preparation of presentations, reports, and other communications within established milestones.
• Track writing deliverables and deadlines, coordinating with project teams to meet schedules.
• Review own and team’s materials to ensure they are clear, professional, and aligned with client and organizational goals.
• Demonstrated commitment to the firm’s values of respect, integrity, service, and excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling ability with proven experience in aerospace, aviation, or defense (familiarity of architecture and engineering (AE) industry a plus).
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, technical writing, journalism, aerospace studies or related field (graduate degree a plus).
• 7 years of relevant experience in technical or proposal writing.
• Demonstrated ability to craft persuasive arguments in white papers, proposals, reports, or publications.
• Self-starter with sense of urgency aligned to time-sensitive objectives and commercial space sector.
• Familiarity with aerospace industry, especially commercial space and emerging aviation companies, technologies, and programs (breadth of experience, including defense aerospace, a plus).
• Research skills to support development of content informed by technical and market insights.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deliverables and time-sensitive deadlines.
