After School Aide

Overview
The School Aide plays a vital role in supporting the educational environment by assisting teachers and students in various capacities. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and child development, and who thrive in a collaborative setting. The School Aide will work closely with students to foster a positive learning atmosphere, providing guidance and support to enhance their educational experience.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Supervise students during classroom activities and recess to ensure safety and engagement.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students needing additional support in their studies. Assisting with homework help.
- Help manage student behavior by implementing behavior management strategies as directed by the lead teacher.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff regarding student progress and needs.

Skills
- Experience working with children in educational settings is preferred.
- Strong background in childcare, early childhood education, elementary education or tutoring is an asset.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with first aid practices is beneficial for ensuring student safety.
- A background in Christian education is preferred.

This position will have a start date of August 1st, 2026. This position is for our after school program, working in our kindergarten-2nd grade aftercare classroom under the supervision of a lead teacher.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.81 - $18.00 per hour
