White River Children’s Academy is hiring a School Age After School Assistant Teacher to support our elementary-age program. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, supporting homework and enrichment, and being part of a collaborative childcare team. Flexibility to support multiple age groups is required.

Position Highlights

• $20–$22/hour (depending on experience)
• Part-time afternoon schedule: 1:00pm–5:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage support across age groups during the first 2–2.5 hours of the shift
• Assist in the school-age classroom with after-school care for children ages 5–12
• Supervise structured activities, free play, and homework time
• Help plan and lead games, crafts, and outdoor activities
• Promote positive behavior, safety, and smooth transitions
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and compliance with childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred (childcare, camps, tutoring, education, or similar)
• Comfortable supporting different age groups as needed
• Reliable, positive, and team-oriented
• Ability to follow childcare licensing and safety guidelines
• Valid driver's license with the ability to transport students to/from school using WRCA transport van
• Must pass a background check and complete required state training
