After School Care Teacher

Alphabet Alley Child Care Center is seeking applicants to fill a PART TIME after care teacher position. Located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia and serving infants through age 5 and a before and after care program, Alphabet Alley strives to establish a happy and nurturing environment that both promotes and cultivates a positive learning experience for our children. By involving teaching staff, children, and parents we create a challenging and supportive environment where our children can learn and grow.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Applicants with CDA or 2 years childcare experience and are willing to get CDA
• Minimum of an Associates’ Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE); or related field (child development, special education, elementary education or human service field with 18 ECE credits).
• Bachelors' Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE); or related field (child development, special education, elementary education or human service field with 30 ECE credits) preferred
• Minimum of 1-3 years of documented positive early educational teaching experience.
• Certified in First Aid, CPR, and Mandated Reporting.
• Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check and drug screening.
• Demonstrated communication skills, including expressive (written and oral) as well as receptive skills.
• Ability to use technology such as iPads, and other educational resources.
• Demonstrated ability to independently as well as collaboratively make appropriate and rational judgments and decisions, reason effectively, and solve problems.
• Ability to effectively read, write and communicate the English language. Bilingualism is a plus.
• Has the physical capability to:
• Frequently lift or move weight as in lifting, carrying or holding children up to 60lbs
• Repetitively bend, stretch and stoop
• Work with children on the floor
• Work outdoors in a variety of weather
• Fully maintain sight and sound child supervision
• Perform light cleaning duties

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
