Responsibilities
- Lead engaging chess lessons and activities tailored to students of various ages and skill levels
- Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment
- Tutor students individually or in small groups to improve their game strategies and understanding
- Develop lesson plans that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement
- Maintain organized records of attendance, student achievements, and lesson plans
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff about student participation and progress
Requirements
- Prior experience teaching or tutoring children or adolescents in an educational setting
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline and focus during activities
- Knowledge of chess rules, strategies, and teaching techniques suitable for children
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students
- Ability to create a welcoming environment that fosters learning and confidence
- Experience working with diverse student populations and understanding their unique needs
- Passion for education, child development, and promoting strategic thinking through chess
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
