Join LIFT Enrichment as a Chef Teacher where you can teach healthy culinary workshops to students at low-income schools. It’s a fun and rewarding job where you can help students learn a key life skill: learning to make easy and healthy meals!

Benefits:

  • We compensate for prep time
  • For single workshops, we pay for 3.5 hours, and for double workshops, we pay for 5 hours. This includes time for at-home prep, arriving on-site, teaching, and cleanup. Workshops typically start at 2:30 PM and end by 5:30 PM.
  • Paid Training
  • Reimbursed Mileage

Requirements:

  • Availability Monday to Friday 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Clean background check to work with schools
  • Experience working with kids: i.e. summer camp counselor, retired teacher, etc.
  • Experience cooking at home: i.e. you can cook basic meals (no formal or professional chef experience is required)

Expectations:

  • Create an engaging and dynamic learning environment
  • Teach fun recipes like Pasta with Zucchini and Bell Peppers, Black Bean & Spinach Quesadilla with Pico de Gallo, Whole Wheat Grilled Cheese with Broccoli Slaw, Crispy Chicken Tenders with Mixed Green Salad
  • Transport a culinary kit we provide to each site
  • Complete grocery shopping every Monday between 9am-12pm.
  • Complete reimbursement forms for ingredients purchased each week

This is a great fit for someone who is a retired teacher or a student in college who's pursuing a teaching degree. Each workshop involves 1 instructor leading a group of 15-20 students who are elementary or middle school students in low-income areas. This is not a good fit for someone who is looking for full-time work.
