This is a part-time After-School Counselor position. Hours are 3:15pm-6:30pm, with occasional team meetings and paid trainings throughout the year. Optional to pick up additional hours in the summer by working before and/or after care for our summer camp program.

General Duties & Details

• Work with a team to lead children in various after-school activities while maintaining safety, discipline, and engagement.
• Be an example to and guide children in Christ-like behavior, character, respect for and treatment of others and of property, and following program policies and procedures.
• Respond to the needs of the children in a firm, but loving and nurturing way.
• Act responsibly and attentively to avoid any injuries or endangerment to children and team.
• Know and follow program policies and procedures to ensure a safe and fun environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility with work schedules and duties.
• Some seasonal opportunities may be available (holidays and summer with some opportunity for school year weekdays, depending upon availability)
• Hourly wage commensurate with experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 17 years of age
• Ability to report to work on time and maintain consistent attendance
• Ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
• Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels
• Ability to work under pressure in a sometimes loud and disruptive environment
• Some experience working with children preferred
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques is a plus
• Experience in areas such as Christian counseling, special education, theater, sports coaching, or tutoring is also a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.50 - $10.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
