We are seeking a passionate and energetic After School Dance Instructor to join our team. This role involves teaching dance classes to children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. Duties
- Lead after-school dance classes for children of various ages and skill levels
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate fundamental dance techniques and creative movement
- Ensure a safe learning environment by supervising students and enforcing classroom rules
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and participation
- Assist with setting up dance spaces, organizing equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of the studio or classroom
- Incorporate elements of theater, movement, or other arts to enhance the dance experience
- Support students’ social-emotional development through encouragement and constructive feedback
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage children effectively
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or early childhood education
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Ability to teach dance fundamentals while fostering creativity and confidence
- Experience with special education or inclusive teaching strategies is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
- Passion for working with children and promoting healthy physical activity through dance
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.84 - $29.92 per hour
