After School Dance Instructor

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic After School Dance Instructor to join our team. This role involves teaching dance classes to children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. Duties

• Lead after-school dance classes for children of various ages and skill levels
• Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate fundamental dance techniques and creative movement
• Ensure a safe learning environment by supervising students and enforcing classroom rules
• Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management strategies
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and participation
• Assist with setting up dance spaces, organizing equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of the studio or classroom
• Incorporate elements of theater, movement, or other arts to enhance the dance experience
• Support students’ social-emotional development through encouragement and constructive feedback
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary

Skills

• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage children effectively
• Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or early childhood education
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Ability to teach dance fundamentals while fostering creativity and confidence
• Experience with special education or inclusive teaching strategies is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
• Passion for working with children and promoting healthy physical activity through dance

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.84 - $29.92 per hour
