- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, theater, and educational games that promote childhood development
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques and effective classroom management skills
- Assist with homework help, tutoring sessions, and supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities
- Implement safety procedures including first aid when necessary and ensure adherence to health protocols
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support individual student needs and foster a supportive community environment
- Lead recreational activities like sports coaching or camp-style programs to encourage teamwork and physical activity
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected
- Background in special education or experience supporting children with special needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to engage children positively and work collaboratively with staff and parents
- Passion for working with students and fostering a safe, inclusive environment that encourages growth and learning
