Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as After School Program Leader. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a positive and engaging environment for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. You will be responsible for supporting educational activities, fostering personal growth, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our programs. You will also drive one of our 14-passenger vans to the local elementary schools for after-school pickup and bring them back to our center. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about childhood development and creating a loving and fun environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs, games and activities.
- Provide support in behavior management to create a conducive learning environment.
- Engage with students through tutoring and mentoring, addressing their individual learning needs.
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with CreekStone Academy staff members to create a cohesive program that meets the needs of all participants.
- Implement first aid procedures when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all children.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to special education, childcare, and childhood development.
- Drive passenger van to the local elementary schools for "after school pick up " and bring the students back to the center.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience or skills in the following areas:
- Behavior management techniques to effectively support student behavior.
- Safe driving record and proof of a valid driver's license.
- Tutoring or educational support experience that enhances student learning outcomes.
- Previous work in daycare or childcare settings demonstrating a commitment to child welfare.
- Experience in sports coaching or physical education is beneficial for promoting active lifestyles among students.
- Familiarity with childhood development theories and practices to support age-appropriate learning.
- First aid certification is preferred to ensure readiness for emergencies.
- Experience working with special education populations is an asset, enabling inclusive practices within our programs.
MUST HAVES
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Experience leading elementary age children in a school or camp setting
