Duties

• Lead and supervise after school program activities to ensure they are fun, safe, and aligned with developmental goals
• Manage classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and respectful interactions among children
• Coordinate with instructors, teachers, parents, and community partners to support each child's individual needs and progress
• Implement behavior management techniques rooted in childhood development principles to foster a supportive environment
• Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including first aid procedures and emergency response readiness
• Organize engaging activities such as tutoring sessions, sports coaching, arts and theater projects, and recreational games
• Oversee daily attendance records, incident reports, and program documentation to maintain compliance and safety standards
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and volunteers to uphold high-quality childcare practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience in working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or babysitting
• Strong classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development principles
• Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is preferred
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and community partners
• Ability to lead activities that promote early childhood education, behavior management, and social-emotional growth
• Passion for working with students of all ages in a dynamic environment focused on positive youth development
