Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging activities such as tutoring sessions, arts and crafts, sports, theater, or other recreational programs tailored to children's interests and developmental needs
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
- Support children by implementing individualized strategies and accommodations
- Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents
- Collaborate with site leads, instructors, teachers, parents, and other staff to monitor progress and address individual student needs
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that promotes learning and play
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a structured yet fun environment
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or early childhood education
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
- Ability to handle emergency situations with calmness and confidence; First aid certification is a plus
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with children with diverse needs
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Passion for supporting children's growth through activities like sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling is highly valued
