The Position (After School Teacher)

As an After School Teacher, you’ll help support student learning and development in before- and after-school programs in Vista, CA. You’ll foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. With opportunities to guide lesson activities, provide homework support, and engage students in recreation, you’ll make a lasting impact on children’s lives.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Implement educational activities and lesson plans.
• Provide tutoring, subject support, and homework assistance.
• Manage classroom behavior and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with staff to support student success.
• Lead and participate in recreational activities.
• Supervise and provide childcare for students.
• Support students with special education needs.
• Be open to traveling to multiple school sites throughout the week in Vista, CA.

Qualifications and Candidate Background
The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 1 year of experience working with children in a professional setting (those pursuing education or child development degrees encouraged to apply).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
• Reliability and consistency in supporting students.
• Knowledge and passion for childhood education or related fields.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday:

• AM Shift: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
• PM Shift: 12:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
