Job Summary:

The Countryside Children's Center seeks afterschool teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. CCC is a two-site private nonprofit afterschool program hosting children in grades K-5. Applicants should exude enthusiasm, creativity, and an ability to work within a team setting. Experience teaching arts and crafts, active games, and educational subjects is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate positivity, strong communication skills, and flexibility. Applicants should be committed to the 2025-2026 school year, September through June.

CCC will offer part-time positions with the following hours:

  • Monday 2:00-6
  • Tuesday 1:00-6
  • Wednesday 1 1:30-6
  • Thursday 2:00-6, 11:30-6:00 on 6 NPS early release Days (11:30-6:00)
  • Friday 2:00-6
  • Any combination of days will be considered when hiring new applicants. However, candidates must be able to work Wednesday @ 11:30.
  • $21.00 to $23.00/hour (Depending on Experience), paid time off, yearly Bonus, and a 403B Retirement plan. Additional benefits such as health and dental are also available after three years of employment. We value your hard work and believe in rewarding it accordingly.

Qualifications (not intended to be comprehensive):

  • A suitable review of Criminal Background Record Checks, which include fingerprinting)
  • Desire to work with children and families
  • Ability to deal effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to walk distances required for field trips
  • Ability to be outside for 30-45 minutes per day, determined by the Site Director
  • Complete all EEC Essentials trainings

Responsibilities
- Create engaging and educational lesson plans for afterschool activities.
- Implement classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Provide support to students as needed.
- Use communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Incorporate elements of behavior management in teaching practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes childhood development and learning.
