Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic After School Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising students, facilitating educational and recreational activities, and supporting their social and emotional development. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to learn, grow, and have fun while ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties

  • Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, including tutoring sessions, arts and crafts, sports, theater, and other recreational programs
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
  • Provide basic first aid when necessary and maintain accurate incident reports
  • Foster social skills, teamwork, and emotional regulation through guided interactions and counseling principles when appropriate
  • Coordinate with parents, school staff, and caregivers to communicate progress or concerns
  • Lead engaging camp-style activities during holiday breaks or special events
  • Encourage childhood development milestones through play-based learning and structured lessons
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or similar environments preferred
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or childhood development are a plus
  • Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and developmental stages
  • Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare enhances your ability to engage children creatively
  • Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to adapt activities for children with diverse needs including those requiring special education support
  • Energetic attitude with a genuine passion for nurturing young minds in a Christian or values-based context
