After School Teacher - 2 year old clas

Purple Crayon is seeking an Early Childhood lead teacher for our after school program for our 2 year-old class. The hours for this position are 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

We are a small, close-knit preschool and have formed strong relationships with all of our students and families. It is very important that we create a nurturing, caring, and supportive environment to the families we serve and also to each other on the team.

We are interested in meeting experienced and passionate early childhood educators who truly believe in the importance of providing meaningful experiences to young children and can describe their ideas/experiences that will inspire young children to become lifelong learners. We expect teachers to be not only a role model to their students, but also as a secondary caregiver and playmate (we love it when teachers get down and join children in their play).

Qualifications:

• NYS Early Childhood Education teaching certification and at least a Bachelor's degree (a plus)
• Study plan teachers must be enrolled in an accredited program to obtain the Early Childhood Education teaching certification within 3 years, with proof of enrollment.
• 2+ years of experience working as the lead teacher in a preschool classroom
• Friendly, energetic, approachable individual who enjoys working with children and families
• Responsible, self-starter, team-player
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to create developmentally appropriate lessons
• Strong technology skills
• CPR/First Aid Training

Job Description includes but not limited to:

• Implementing effective program curriculum
• Plan and implement monthly and yearly curriculum and activities for students
• Prepare materials necessary for planned activities
• Conduct small and large group activities and implement routines in the classroom
• Track student attendance
• Maintain general class cleanliness

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
