Job Summary

Duties

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions across various subjects, including mathematics, science, English language arts, and test preparation such as SATs
• Develop customized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and adapt to individual learning styles and needs
• Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance engagement and understanding during instruction
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure continuous improvement
• Support students with special education needs by implementing inclusive teaching practices and accommodations
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes student motivation, confidence, and independence
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a safe and respectful space for all learners

Experience

• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is essential, including classroom management or childcare roles
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional adaptability across diverse subjects
• Experience tutoring or teaching English language arts, mathematics, science, or test preparation (such as SATs) is highly desirable
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms and online instruction methods to facilitate remote or hybrid tutoring sessions
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying learning styles
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with parents, teachers, and school staff as needed
• Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is a plus for working with younger learners
