Aftercare Teacher

Live Oak Classical School is seeking committed Christians who are passionate about fostering the social, emotional, and educational development of children, ages 4-12, in an after-school program. The aftercare program runs for two hours each day, M-F, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. As an aftercare worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing environment for Live Oak Classical students, providing engaging age-appropriate play and educational activities, and following school policies and procedures.

Reports to: After Care Director

Job Goals:

Educational and Developmental Activities:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, and educational lessons
• Provide a quiet time for homework and provide tutoring assistance when needed
• Organize and participate in recreational activities
• Encourage the social, emotional, and intellectual development of the children in your care through play and positive interactions

Communication and Record-Keeping:

• Communicate with the Aftercare Director and parents when appropriate about student behavior and injuries
• Maintain accurate records for student attendance and any significant incidents
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a consistent and supportive environment

Other Responsibilities:

• Maintain consistent attendance
• Follow the LOCS employee dress code
• Return the classroom and/or play areas to normal and ensure they are clean and organized
• Adapt to the needs of individual children and provide individualized care and attention
