Position Summary
The Afternoon Pre-K Teacher supports a structured, engaging classroom environment for four- to five-year-old children. This position focuses on reinforcing daily learning, supporting social-emotional development, and maintaining a positive, organized classroom during afternoon transitions, enrichment activities, and closing routines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support and extend morning curriculum activities in the afternoon.
- Lead small-group activities, centers, and enrichment experiences.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
- Supervise children during playtime, snack, and transitions.
- Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behavior strategies.
- Assist with toileting and hygiene routines as needed.
- Communicate with families during pick-up regarding daily activities.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
- Follow all licensing regulations and center policies.
- Assist with end-of-day closing duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or Early Childhood coursework preferred.
- Experience working with preschool or Pre-K children preferred.
- Knowledge of kindergarten readiness skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage in active play.

Reports To: Director or Assistant Director
Schedule:
Monday–Friday
1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
What We’re Looking For:
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to pass a state background check
- Someone patient, compassionate, and reliable
- Experience with infants preferred but not required—we will train!
