Responsibilities
- Lead afternoon classroom sessions by implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Manage daily classroom routines, ensuring a structured yet flexible environment that promotes independence and exploration.
- Support children’s individual needs through tailored activities, especially in areas such as special education and early intervention strategies.
- Foster positive behavior management techniques to encourage respectful interactions and emotional regulation among children.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements that incorporate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to childhood development or child welfare.
- Maintain accurate documentation of classroom activities, assessments, and standardized testing results to monitor each child's growth.
Skills
- Strong background in early childhood education with experience in preschool settings or daycare environments.
- Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to toddlers and preschoolers.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques that promote a safe and engaging learning atmosphere.
