Trinity Preschool is a ministry of Santa Barbara Community Church and our primary goal is to reflect the love of Christ to the families we serve both through school curriculum and from their own walk with Christ. Trinity Preschool is a program based on supporting the whole family and therefore preschool staff must be sensitive, compassionate, mature individuals who are able to relate well to both children and adults.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 12-5pm; some hours available as a sub on top of that each month; this role will turn into a full time teacher role June 15th and the hope would be that you would stay on for the entire 26-27 school year as well (and beyond ideally!).
Qualifications:
Must be willing to complete the following trainings through Trinity:
1. CPR/First Aid certification every two years
2. Mandated Reporter Training every year
3. Sexual Harassment Training every two years
The Trinity Preschool staff has been selected for their positions because of special qualities, talent or skills which are needed to make up a well-balanced administrative, teaching and support staff. Each member is a part of the total staff, and all persons are charged with the total responsibility of working together in a united manner. Each staff member is charged with the responsibility of seeing that the reputation of our school as an outstanding educational environment for children and their families is enhanced and maintained.
Responsibilities of a Trinity Preschool Teacher will include but are not limited to:
· Develop activities for the 3-5pm hours that meet the needs of students and help them to grow in all facets of development (social, emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual)
· Treat children with respect and dignity in both words and actions.
· Participate in all staff meetings.
· Be present for teacher in-service days and school events, as well as any scheduled professional development conferences.
· Keep the playground, nap room, and all other shared spaces orderly.
· Able to maintain communication through Procare with individual families, as well as posting photos of afternoon happenings daily.
· Be able to utilize school iPads, personal computers or cell phone to create word documents, spreadsheets, etc.
· Maintain a positive professional attitude that demonstrates love, kindness and willingness to hear or learn from others.
· Assist children with refilling waters, changing clothes, applying sunscreen and helping with all toileting needs, including changing diapers.
· Able to keep track of children’s belongings and kindly make children aware when something is left behind.
· Can perform physical tasks such as lift children ages 2-6 years, bending to their level, etc.
· Willing to assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities to upkeep the school’s appearance and cleanliness.
· Must read and possess knowledge of the current parent handbook, staff handbook and job description.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
