Shift: Monday–Friday | Approx. 12:00 PM – 6:30 PM

At CreekStone Academy, we believe the afternoon is just as vital for development as the morning. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Afternoon Preschool Teacher to join our Madison team.

In this role, you will start your shift by providing essential break coverage across classrooms before taking the lead with our 4-year-old students in the afternoon. You aren't just "watching" a class; you are playing a crucial role in shaping the social, emotional, and intellectual foundations of our students as they prepare for their transition to Kindergarten.

Preschool Teacher Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership & Play

• Engaging Curriculum: Implement play-based lesson plans that promote literacy, foundational math, and physical coordination.
• Developmental Milestones: Facilitate activities that encourage exploration and intellectual curiosity in 4-year-olds.
• Floor-Level Engagement: Actively participate in student activities, which includes the ability to play and interact on the ground/floor level.

Classroom Management & Safety

• Positive Guidance: Employ effective behavior management strategies to maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive classroom atmosphere.
• Break Support: Provide high-quality coverage for fellow teachers during their mid-day breaks, ensuring consistent care across various age groups.
• Environment Stewardship: Maintain a stimulating and organized classroom that encourages children to explore and learn.

Communication & Documentation

• Progress Tracking: Monitor and assess student progress, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of every child.
• Family Partnership: Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding child welfare and daily achievements.

Preschool Teacher Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare center is preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree and/or DHR training is highly preferred.
• Age & Safety: Must be at least 19 years of age. Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred (please list all relevant training on your resume).
• Skills: Strong understanding of early childhood development, excellent verbal/written communication, and creative problem-solving abilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
