Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities tailored to toddlers’ interests and needs, promoting cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Supervise children during playtime, snack time, nap time, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement at all times.
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation, sharing, and respectful interactions among children.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns that arise during the afternoon shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports learning and safety standards in accordance with licensing regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans for children with special needs or disabilities.
- Implement health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure a secure setting for all children.
- Document daily activities, observations, and developmental milestones to track each child's progress effectively.
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or nannying roles.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; additional training in special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members clearly and compassionately.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills to create an organized and nurturing environment conducive to learning.
- Experience with caregiving roles such as babysitting or nannying that involve close supervision of toddlers is highly valued.
