Duties

  • Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that support childhood development, including arts, sports, theater, and educational games
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful environment
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to coordinate programs aligned with educational goals and student needs
  • Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents
  • Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention
  • Maintain a clean, organized space conducive to learning and play

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments
  • Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Background in early childhood education or childhood development preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children and support their emotional and social growth
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, parents, and community partners
  • Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive environment that encourages children’s growth and creativity
