E-PLEX Irvine (Quail Hill) is seeking dedicated Afterschool Lead Teachers for multiple grade levels. Our afterschool program supports students academically while providing a structured and engaging learning environment after school.
Teachers will assist students with homework, reinforce academic concepts through structured learning materials, and create a positive classroom environment that supports both academic and social development.
Positions AvailableTK–2nd Grade Lead TeacherJob Description
As a Lead Teacher for TK–2nd grade students, you will play a vital role in supporting young learners during their foundational academic years. You will create and deliver engaging lessons, assist with homework, and foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities focused on literacy, numeracy, and creative exploration
- Provide targeted academic support, including homework assistance and foundational skill-building in reading, writing, and math
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of young learners
- Utilize and implement the Genius Packet supplementary materials to reinforce key concepts and skills
- Ensure students complete assigned sections of the packet with personalized feedback and corrections
- Monitor and assess student progress and communicate with parents through messaging apps and daily reports
- Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning atmosphere
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to maintain program quality
Qualifications
- Minimum: Associate’s degree or currently enrolled in college
- Preferred: Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
- Experience working with TK–2nd grade students preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning strategies
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
3rd–5th Grade Lead TeacherJob Description
The 3rd–5th Grade Lead Teacher is responsible for providing structured academic support while encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This role emphasizes homework support, enrichment activities, and communication with parents regarding student progress.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lessons tailored to the academic needs of 3rd–5th grade students
- Assist students with homework and reinforce core academic subjects
- Utilize and implement Genius Packet supplementary materials to reinforce concepts and skills
- Provide individualized feedback and corrections to strengthen student understanding
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through hands-on activities
- Maintain an organized and productive classroom environment
- Communicate student progress with parents via messaging apps and reports
Qualifications
- Minimum: Associate’s degree or currently enrolled in college
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Experience teaching or mentoring upper elementary students
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students academically
Middle School Lead TeacherJob Description
The Middle School Lead Teacher provides academic guidance and subject-specific support to middle school students. This role focuses on strengthening core academic skills, assisting with homework and test preparation, and supporting students as they develop independence and confidence in their studies.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive academic support including homework help, test preparation, and subject-specific guidance
- Teach and reinforce core academic subjects such as math, reading, and writing
- Utilize and implement Genius Packet supplementary materials to reinforce key academic concepts
- Provide detailed feedback and corrections to ensure students fully understand the material
- Guide students through more advanced projects and learning activities
- Maintain a structured classroom environment that promotes focus and responsibility
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
Qualifications
- Minimum: Currently enrolled in college or higher
- Strong academic background, particularly in math and core academic subjects
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience required
- Ability to explain academic concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for supporting middle school students' academic growth
Position Details
Location: Irvine, CA (Quail Hill)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, After School
Hours: 15 – 20 hours per week
Pay Range:
- TK–5th Grade: $20 – $30 / hour
- Middle School: $20 – $30 / hour (depending on experience)
