Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Part-Time Afterschool Camp Public Speaking Instructor to inspire and empower young learners through the art of effective communication- fostering confidence, critical thinking, and expressive skills for youth (elementary and middle school).
Looking for enthusiastic English Major or ELA teachers instructors for Afterschool and Summer camp to facilitate hands on workshops that create a positive, motivating environment where students can develop their voice, communication and presentation abilities while having fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ personal growth and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver dynamic public speaking lessons tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels, ensuring all students are actively engaged.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies to maintain a focused learning atmosphere.
- Incorporate interactive activities such as debates, speeches, storytelling, and group presentations to enhance learning experiences.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their speaking abilities.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or school staff to communicate progress.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
Qualifications
- Toastmaster experience is a huge plus.
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring children in English language, Public speaking, theater, or related fields such speech and debate.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate young learners and handle diverse behaviors effectively.
- Experience working with children in camp programs, or afterschool programs.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and creating inclusive and comfortable environments for the participants.
- Ability to incorporate creative teaching methods that promote active participation and confidence building.
- Willing to go through a background check , including Livescan and Finger printing.
