Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Afterschool Teacher to join our team. We are looking for a passionate educator who can inspire and engage students in learning Chinese Mandarin after school hours.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging Chinese/Math lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning ages and styles.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and productive learning environment.
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to enhance the educational experience of students.
- Support students with special needs by adapting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
- Utilize first aid knowledge as necessary to ensure student safety and well-being.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in a classroom or after-school setting, preferably in Chinese language instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and enrichment activities.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Background in education or related fields is preferred.
- Experience in special education, behavior management, or tutoring is highly valued.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and techniques for engaging students effectively.
- Skills in extracurricular activities are a plus.
