Afterschool/Summer Teacher

Duties

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
• Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to create a positive environment
• Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety at all times
• Provide first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or emergencies following safety protocols
• Support children with special educational needs by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists when necessary
• Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages teamwork, respect, and personal growth among children
• Coordinate with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and special requirements
• Keeping a clean and safe environment for children to flourish in.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare roles
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Skills in classroom management and behavior management strategies to maintain a structured learning environment
• Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus
