Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Agent to join our team. In this role you will:

1. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management

· Prospect, qualify, and onboard new shipping customers across LTL, TL, intermodal, and/or specialized freight.

· Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts to drive repeat business and expand wallet share.

· Conduct regular business reviews, performance updates, and solution-based consultations.

· Identify customer pain points and develop tailored logistics solutions.

2. Carrier Procurement & Negotiation

· Source, vet, and onboard reliable carriers that align with compliance, insurance, and service standards.

· Negotiate competitive rates that preserve margin while meeting customer requirements.

· Maintain a carrier network for capacity flexibility (local, regional, national).

· Strengthen long-term carrier partnerships through consistent communication and volume alignment.

3. Load Booking & Freight Coordination

· Match available freight with qualified carriers based on pricing, service level, lane preference, and equipment.

· Schedule pickups, deliveries, appointments, and special requirements (liftgate, inside delivery, temp-controlled, etc.).

· Ensure all load details are accurate before tendering to carriers.

· Provide proactive updates to customers regarding status, delays, or disruptions.

4. Operational Execution & Problem Solving

· Monitor all loads from pickup to delivery, ensuring on-time performance and proper communication.

· Troubleshoot issues such as delays, missed appointments, damage, and accessorial disputes.

· Collaborate with dispatchers, carriers, and customers to resolve challenges quickly and maintain service reliability.

· Secure PODs, BOLs, and necessary documentation post-delivery.

5. Margin Management & Financial Accountability

· Quote lanes using market benchmarks, routing guides, and internal rate tools.

· Maintain healthy load-level and book-of-business margins.

· Track weekly/quarterly performance KPIs: GP, volume, carrier utilization, and customer growth.

· Confirm accessorial, detention, and other billables to maximize revenue.

6. Compliance & Risk Management

· Ensure carrier compliance with safety ratings, insurance requirements, authority, and certifications.

· Follow FMCSA, DOT, and internal SOPs for all shipments.

· Accurately document agreements, rate confirmations, and carrier packets.

· Prevent double brokering, fraud, and unauthorized re-tendering.

7. Communication & Reporting

· Maintain clear communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams (ops, accounting, leadership).

· Provide status updates, rate changes, market intelligence, and service issues.

· Log all activity consistently in the TMS or CRM.

· Prepare periodic reports on customer opportunities, lane performance, and market shifts.

8. Technology & Systems Utilization

· Utilize TMS for quoting, booking, route optimization, tracking, and invoicing.

· Use CRM systems to track prospects, follow-ups, and pipeline value.

· Leverage digital freight platforms, load boards, and visibility tools.

· Maintain clean, real-time data entry for auditability and customer transparency.

Compensation

This position is 1099 employee at full commission
