The Agile Scrum Master supports the System-of-Systems (SoS) Lead Engineer and Lead Capability Integrator (LCI) by facilitating the development process and managing technical requirements within the Atlassian (or equivalent) ecosystem. This role acts as a servant-leader to ensure multiple integration projects effectively utilize agile tools for execution, collaboration, and formal methods.
Principal Responsibilities

Agile Facilitation: Organize and lead standard Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

Backlog & Requirements Management: Assist leadership with backlog grooming and user story refinement, ensuring requirements are properly decomposed and allocated.

Tools Administration: Configure and maintain Scrum/Kanban boards, dashboards, and tool filters to track progress and program health.

Metrics & Reporting: Track and report team velocity, sprint progress, and burnup/burndown metrics to leadership and stakeholders.

Documentation Management: Utilize collaboration tools to develop and maintain Documentation Management Plans (DMP) and Requirements Management Plans (RMP).

Quality Assurance: Manage QA reviews and version control of technical documentation and briefings to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Risk Management: Identify and develop Risks/Issues/Opportunities (RIO) assessments during project execution.

Agile Coaching: Educate teams on Agile principles, DevSecOps best practices, and scaling frameworks like SAFe.
Skills
Proficient in:

Tool Expertise: Expert proficiency in at least one agile tools suite (e.g. Jira and Confluence) for enterprise Agile management.

Technical Writing: High proficiency in technical writing/editing and creating DoD-standard documentation.

Requirements Traceability: Experience with technical requirements traceability and conducting formal documentation reviews.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present technical status briefings to executives and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Engineering, or a related field with 3–5+ years of relevant experience.

Certification: Active Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM 1), or equivalent.

Clearance: Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) or ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Domain Experience: Working knowledge of US Navy/DoD terminology and military technical documentation standards.
