Role Overview:
The AGM – Learning & Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s learning strategy to build capability, enhance performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning across all levels. The role demands a strategic mindset with deep hands-on expertise in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with plant HR heads, functional leaders, and external partners to ensure learning initiatives align with business priorities and workforce development needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- L&D Strategy & Framework
- Develop and implement a company-wide Learning & Development roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Identify current and future skill gaps and design learning interventions to bridge them.
- Drive capability-building initiatives for leadership, technical, and behavioral competencies.
- Learning Management System (LMS)
- Administer, manage, and enhance the organization’s LMS platform.
- Design, upload, and maintain digital learning content, ensuring user-friendly access and high engagement.
- Track, analyze, and report learning data and ROI through LMS analytics and dashboards.
- Partner with IT and vendors to ensure seamless LMS operations and system upgrades.
- Training Design & Delivery
- Conceptualize, develop, and deliver blended learning programs (classroom, e-learning, and on-the-job).
- Collaborate with internal experts and external facilitators to design customized training content.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve delivery methods.
- Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with business and plant HR teams to identify learning needs and ensure consistent rollout across locations.
- Partner with leadership for succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Represent L&D in strategic HR and capability-building forums.
- Governance & Compliance
- Ensure standardization of learning processes and compliance with organizational policies.
- Maintain training records and audit-ready documentation across all plant sites.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: MBA / PGDM in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 20 years in Learning & Development, preferably in large manufacturing / steel / process industry environments.
- Proven expertise in managing and scaling LMS platforms and digital learning ecosystems.
- Strong background in competency mapping, leadership development, and skill enhancement frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Open to frequent travel across India to plant locations.
- Demonstrated ability to blend strategic vision with hands-on execution.
