Job Overview
Watson Irrigation is seeking a dedicated and skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team. Watson Irrigation has been servicing most parts of Montana with the highest quality of products and service for the past 30 years. If you have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and enjoy getting to work outdoors in the greatest office in Montana this may be a good fit for you. The technician will be responsible for the install and maintenance of pivot irrigation systems, pumps, and pump controls as well as various other agricultural irrigation systems. Technicians will be working with the grower to keep there irrigation systems going while providing the best customer service.

While most technicians have skills in many different fields we do our best to fit technicians with tasks best suited to there stronger skill sets while trying to train or get hands on experience in other areas as well to grow your skills. Technicians are problem solvers in the field and will run into various tasks from digging up and repairing pipelines to welding or working on computer control panels.

Ideal Qaulifications (not all required)

  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Basic Electrical knowledge
  • Operation of machinery (skid steer, mini excavator, truck crane)
  • Basic Welding Knowledge (arc welding)
  • Basic Understanding of Farm irrigation systems
  • Class A CDL or Drivers License with clean driving record
  • Ability to work in a Team Environment as well as independently
  • Ability to think on the fly and work in a fast paced work environment
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to lift 100LBS

Responsibilities

  • Operate service truck and travel to and from job sites
  • Maintain Service truck and stock of parts on truck required to perform duties.
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Install and maintain various types of irrigation systems, ensuring proper functionality and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems to identify issues or areas for improvement.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to dig trenches, build irrigation lines, and repair existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to irrigation equipment and perform necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, installations.

Wage

$25-$35 with plenty of overtime in the spring and summer months. Can expect 40-60 Hours a week in the spring in summer months.
