Quality Drills is a rapidly growing agricultural machinery service company dedicated to supporting American farmers with their no-till seeding equipment. We are seeking a dependable and skilled Traveling Mechanic for IMMEDIATE HIRE, whom thrives on the road, with a Team of two to three other Mech/Techs, whom is willing and motivated to work long hours in challenging environments. Self driven initiative to deliver high-quality service to our customers across the United States is imperative to this role. This is a physically demanding position, and due to its strenuous requirements, a physical examination by our company doctor may be required before employment is finalized.

Candidates MUST be prepared for extensive travel (90% of the time, two weeks from Christmas through New Year's off), heavy lifting, and consistent outdoor work in all conditions. You must also have a clean driving record (less than 5 points), as you will be required to share some of the driving responsibilities from site to site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble, repair, and maintain no-till drills and air carts at customer locations nationwide
• Ensure equipment is serviced to optimal working condition and ready for immediate use
• Safely and efficiently operate a wide range of tools and machinery
• Document service activity with detailed logs and communicate progress with management and clients
• Represent Quality Drills with professionalism and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, Oil Field Technician, or Heavy Machinery Mechanic (agricultural mechanic experience is a plus)
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and be away from home for 14–20 day stretches
• Ability to work outdoors in severe climate conditions for long hours (50–90 hours per week)
• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent ability to work well in a highly motivated and driven Team environment
• Excellent communication skills in a work environment

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical/vocational training in mechanics preferred
• Licenses/Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (fewer than 5 points; required for our insurance)
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Physically capable of lifting 75+ lbs repeatedly and performing physical tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day)

Compensation & Benefits:

• $80,000–$110,000 per year
• $25/day per diem while traveling

Schedule:

• Standard rotation: 14 days on / 4 days off (this can be extended during busy periods up to 20 days)
• 12-hour shifts, 50–90 hours per week
