Farm Landscape and Infrastructure Architect
We are establishing a large-scale, highly diversified, and integrated farm. This ambitious project will feature Tree Planting (Orchard/Agroforestry), diverse Horticulture Crop Production, Livestock (Dairy & Goat), Poultry (Chicken & Duck), a state-of-the-art Vermicomposting Unit, a commercial Beekeeping (Apiary) operation, and a Branded AI & Semen Distribution Centre.
We are seeking a visionary and practical Farm Landscape and Infrastructure Architect on a project basis to design the entire physical layout of our integrated farm, ensuring optimal functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal.
Key Responsibilities (Designing the Farm's Blueprint)
The successful candidate will be responsible for translating our integrated farm vision into a detailed, executable master plan and overseeing its initial implementation.
1. Master Plan Development:
- Site Analysis: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the farm's topography, soil conditions (post-lab report), microclimate, and existing natural features.
- Zoning & Layout: Design the optimal layout for all distinct farm units, ensuring efficient workflow, biosecurity (especially for the AI Centre), and seamless integration. This includes:
- Orchard & Crop Zones: Placement considering sunlight, irrigation, and windbreaks.
- Livestock & Poultry Housing: Designing animal shelters for optimal animal welfare, waste management (proximity to vermicomposting), and disease prevention.
- Vermicomposting Unit: Strategic placement for efficient manure intake and compost outflow.
- AI Centre: Secure, climate-controlled, and accessible design with biosecurity protocols in mind.
- Apiary: Location for bee health and efficient crop pollination.
- Administrative & Storage: Placement of office, godowns, and workshops.
- Access & Circulation: Design efficient internal farm roads and pathways for vehicles (tractors, livestock transport) and pedestrian access.
2. Infrastructure & Utility Design:
- Water Management: Design comprehensive water harvesting systems (farm pond, check dams), irrigation networks (drip, sprinkler), and drainage systems to prevent waterlogging and conserve resources.
- Waste Management: Integrate efficient waste collection points, particularly for manure transfer to the vermicomposting unit.
- Basic Building Schematics: Provide conceptual and detailed architectural drawings for all major farm structures (livestock sheds, AI Centre, storage facilities, security cabin), focusing on functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Energy & Utilities: Plan for optimal placement of energy sources (e.g., solar panels, electrical lines) and utility connections.
3. Environmental & Sustainability Integration:
- Buffer Zone Design: Develop specific planting schemes for the green belt/buffer zone to mitigate potential dust from the adjacent industrial unit.
- Erosion Control: Incorporate measures to prevent soil erosion, especially on slopes or near waterways.
- Aesthetic & Ecological Integration: Ensure the farm design is not only functional but also visually appealing and promotes biodiversity.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Engineering, Rural Planning, or Architecture with a specialization/strong experience in farm design or agroforestry.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in large-scale land planning, farm design, or integrated agricultural project design in India. Proven experience in designing livestock and poultry facilities is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) for drafting and 3D visualization.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for site analysis, mapping, and resource management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar tools for project timeline and resource management.
- Familiarity with relevant Indian agricultural standards and building codes.
- Agricultural Knowledge: A solid understanding of agronomy, animal husbandry principles, and sustainable farming practices (Integrated Farming Systems).
