As a Commercial Agronomy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting agronomic practices for large-scale commercial landscapes. This position focuses on maintaining and enhancing soil health, plant nutrition, and pest management to ensure high-quality, sustainable landscapes for clients. Working closely with the Agronomy Manager, you will implement soil and plant health programs, conduct field assessments, apply treatments, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Responsibilities:

Operate spray equipment using safe and proper techniques and procedures.

Prioritize daily work schedule based on minimal supervision.

Perform cultural applications as needed - assist with aerifications, applying seed to designated areas, sand topdressing applications.

Maintain knowledge of spray techniques and an understanding of how to safely apply chemicals.

Ability to operate sprayers, spreaders, and other landscape equipment such as tractors, mowers and rototillers.

Promote safety in every aspect of the job by upholding PPE policies.

Ensure that the necessary resources and materials are available in sufficient quantities in inventory and on the truck.

Ensure that all jobs are completed on time without exceeding the budgeted job production hours.

Immediately report any damage, broken, missing, or malfunctioning equipment and/or safety concerns.

Maintain accurate records of pesticide usage.

Evaluate needs at each job site and make recommendations for possible or necessary changes or improvements to accounts.

Perform other duties as required.
Requirements

Valid Drivers License
-
The ability to obtain and maintain state sanctioned pesticides applicator license within 12 months of accepting job offer is preferred
-
Has the ability to diagnose common landscape insects/diseases in the field along with the knowledge of which chemicals and rates are used to treat them

Experienced in mixing, preparing and applying chemicals to treat weeds, diseases and nutritional deficiencies in lawns, trees and shrubs
-
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Include external environment dealing with all weather and terrain exposure. Safety equipment includes, but is not limited to hard hats, gloves, earplugs, safety vest and safety glasses. This position requires the ability to work during inclement weather events.
