AI and Automation Coordinator

Company Overview

We are a growing, diversified family-owned business with ~$30M in annual operations across logistics trucking/fleet, a full-service mechanic shop, multiple rental properties, and a large 3,500-acre farm in the Fargo area. We're practical innovators looking to leverage today's AI and automation tools to make daily operations smoother, reduce manual work, and spot risks early—without building a big IT department.

If you're excited about using no-code tools, AI prompts, and simple dashboards to solve real business problems in logistics, agriculture, rentals, and maintenance, this is your chance to make an immediate impact.

Role Summary

We're hiring an AI & Automation Coordinator to be our in-house expert on practical tech tools. You'll build dashboards, set up automations, apply everyday AI to our workflows, monitor basic risks, and help our team (drivers, mechanics, farm staff, property managers) use modern tools confidently. This is a hands-on role—expect to deliver quick wins like automated alerts and real-time visibility across our businesses.

***MUST BE LOCAL TO FARGO/WEST FARGO AREA OR WILLING TO RELOCATE***

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain simple, real-time dashboards (using Power BI, Google Data Studio/Looker, or similar) for: Logistics fleet tracking, fuel usage, and delivery delays, farm yields, weather risks, equipment maintenance, rental property occupancy, payments, and maintenance tickets, mechanic shop parts inventory and repair schedules, build no-code/low-code automations (Zapier, Make.com, Microsoft Power Automate, etc.) to handle repetitive tasks—e.g., low-inventory alerts, overdue rental reminders, crop/weather risk notifications, or auto-reports.

Use generative AI tools daily (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, etc.) to generate insights, summarize data, draft training guides, or suggest optimizations for routes, harvests, or inventory.

Monitor basic operational and tech risks via dashboards (supply chain delays, inventory shortages, simple data privacy/cyber basics) and flag issues early.

Run short, practical training sessions (15–30 min) for non-tech staff on using AI in Excel, phones, or daily tools. Research and test new free/cheap tools (<$500/month total spend) and provide quick recommendations on what to adopt. Collaborate directly with owners and ops leads to turn business pain points into fast tech solutions.

Qualifications

1–3 years of relevant experience (data entry, basic analytics, IT support, automation, or self-taught AI projects—recent grads welcome!)

Comfortable with no-code tools (Power BI/Tableau basics, Zapier/Make, Power Automate) and AI prompting (you've used ChatGPT/Copilot to solve problems or build things).

Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to learn quickly

Excellent communication—can explain tech simply to farmers, drivers, and mechanics

Bonus (not required): Any exposure to agriculture, logistics, rentals, or small business ops; free certs like Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, or AI fundamentals.
