About the Company

We are an early stage venture founded by four women entrepreneurs with deep experience across biomaterials, chemistry, climate-tech startup building, and commercialization.

Our current work sits at the intersection of food science and artificial intelligence, where we’re exploring new ways to reformulate, optimize, and scale natural food colorants with a focus on sustainability and performance.

We’re looking for an intern who is curious, driven, and excited to support early-stage exploration in AI food formulation.

About the Role

As anAI Food Science Intern, you will help support the research, exploration, and validation of new ideas in AI-driven food formulation. You’ll lead data analysis, literature research, and early prototyping that inform both our technical direction and our understanding of the market landscape.

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates who enjoy problem-solving and want exposure to cutting-edge ingredient innovation, computational modeling, and startup R&D.

Key Responsibilities

• Support opportunity validation through literature reviews, competitive landscape research, and hypothesis development.
• Help organize, clean, and analyze experimental or computational data to identify trends and guide iteration.
• Assist in developing simple models, prompts, or workflows that support AI-driven formulation concepts.
• Participate in collaborative working sessions with founders, scientists, and engineers to discuss insights, questions, and next steps.
• Translate key findings into organized notes, summaries, or recommendations that support technical and commercial decision-making.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning/AI, or a related field.
• Interest in how food formulation, data, and AI can intersect to create new types of ingredients.
• Coursework or experience in formulation, ingredient functionality, or experimental design is a plus.
• Comfortable working in exploratory environments and contributing ideas proactively.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a willingness to learn new tools and methods.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying useful tasks or research directions.
• Familiarity with Python, data analysis, or simple modeling workflows.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts through classes, projects, or personal exploration.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working in a food science lab or conducting sensory/formulation experiments.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
