AI Intern (Agentic AI / Mobile Product Innovation Intern)

Furtrieve is building intelligent technology to help protect pets, connect communities, and create smarter tools for pet parents through GPS, AI, and community-powered innovation. We’re looking for an ambitious AI Intern excited to work at the intersection of agentic AI, automation, mobile applications, and product innovation.

This is not a “research only” internship. You’ll help prototype and build real tools that may go directly into our products and operations.

Role Overview

We are seeking an AI Intern focused on Agentic Programming and Applied AI Tools to help us design, prototype, and test AI-powered tools, agents, and automations that support product development, customer engagement, and internal workflows.

You should be excited about autonomous agents, LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, AI workflows, and how modern models can be used inside mobile-first products.

Responsibilities

You may help build and experiment with:

Agentic AI & Automation

• Prototype autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents for internal and customer-facing use cases
• Help design multi-step agent workflows using tools, memory, and orchestration logic
• Explore agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, OpenAI tools, etc.)
• Build proof-of-concept agents for:
• Customer support assistants
• Pet safety and lost-pet response tools
• Research and data-gathering agents
• Workflow automation assistants
• Mobile product AI features
• Sales growth and automation tools

Generative AI / LLM Work

Hands-on experimentation with:

• ChatGPT / OpenAI
• Claude (Anthropic)
• Grok (xAI)
• Perplexity
• Prompt engineering and model evaluation
• Comparing model performance for different tasks
• Testing AI-assisted product concepts

Mobile & Product Support

• Support AI features that may integrate into mobile applications
• Help ideate and prototype AI-powered app experiences
• Work with product concepts involving iOS/Android environments
• Support testing and UX thinking around AI features in consumer apps

Innovation / R&D

• Research emerging agentic AI tools and recommend opportunities for Furtrieve
• Rapidly prototype new ideas
• Assist with AI experimentation, documentation, and demos

QualificationsPreferred:

• Coursework or projects in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
• Familiarity with agentic programming or autonomous agent concepts
• Exposure to tools like:
• Python (preferred)
• APIs
• LangChain / LangGraph / CrewAI / AutoGen (nice to have)
• Prompt engineering
• Mobile app development exposure (React Native, Swift, etc. a plus)

Familiarity with:

• ChatGPT
• Claude
• Grok
• AI copilots and emerging LLM tools
• AI automation workflows
• Mobile application ecosystems

Bonus If You Have Experience With

• AI agents or multi-agent systems
• RAG workflows
• Function/tool calling

• Experience building with APIs or automations
