AI Youth Instructor / Teaching Assistant (Part-Time, Paid)

EthmirAIcle Lab is an AI youth education organization that partners with schools to introduce students to Artificial Intelligence through engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate learning experiences. Our mission is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and empower the next generation with foundational AI and computational thinking skills.

We are seeking passionate AI Youth Instructors and Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support elementary and middle school students in after-school programs and camps. In this paid role, you will help deliver interactive lessons, guide projects, and create a supportive learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.

Duties

• Facilitate and/or support hands-on activities using beginner-friendly AI tools (e.g., Scratch, Machine Learning for Kids)
• Help students develop problem-solving skills through collaborative projects and challenges
• Provide in-class support during hands-on work, including answering questions and basic debugging
• Observe student progress and offer feedback to support different learning needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and teamwork
• Collaborate with lead instructors and program coordinators to support lesson delivery
• Maintain a safe, organized learning environment and follow school safety protocols

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or working with youth is highly preferred
• Background or current enrollment in computer science, engineering, STEM, or education-related fields is a plus
• Basic understanding of AI or computer science concepts is helpful but not required — training will be provided
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain ideas clearly and enthusiastically
• Passion for inspiring young learners and promoting diversity in STEM education

Training & Support

• Paid training provided before teaching
• Ready-to-use lesson plans, slides, and classroom activities supplied
• Ongoing coaching and collaboration with our teaching team

Compensation & Logistics

• Hourly pay: $30–$60/hour, based on role and experience
• Part-time, in-person position
• Instructors and TAs are expected to manage their own transportation to class locations (open to discussion if challenges arise)
