Cavalier Logistics is seeking a full-time Export Operations Supervisor to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who can offer a high standard of accuracy and customer service to fulfill the client shipping needs, as well as fulfill Export Regulatory Compliance. The ideal candidate will assist our customers in every aspect of their shipment from quoting,pickup to delivery, and final invoicing while also providing supervision of the Export team. Industry experience, including in bio-pharma, is required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Assist the Station Manager with supervision of the Export department team members
- Act as the TSA Alternate for the ORD Station
- Submitting shipment pre-advices and export documents to overseas agents
- Verifying documentation and in compliance with US and foreign government regulations, export declarations, certificates of origin and in related documents
- Monitoring departures, shipments in transit, arrivals, providing Proof of Delivery to customers
- Provide excellent and timely customer service by proactively informing clients of the status of their shipments and tasks that require special handling or expediting
- Maintain client profile and databases, excellent service to internal and external customers
- Negotiate rates with carriers and achieve consistent profit
- Provide quotes to customers and international agents
- Develop and maintain excellent service to internal and external customers
- Biopharma services SOP and temperature control on special freight
- Rate the file (including costs)
- Complete the export paperwork
- Breakdown and distribute documents
- Labels, AES. Pre-alert consignee
- Monitoring departures, shipments in transit, arrivals, clearance and delivery
- Final file checklist
- Cross training in other departments
- Other duties that may be assigned
Requirements:- Three to five years minimum industry experience required, 2-3 years previous supervisory experience preferred
- One to two years bio-pharma logistics experience required
- Knowledge of TSA and international shipping regulations required
- Strong customer service skills a must
- Working knowledge of airline routes
- Willing and able to learn new tasks with training provided
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Bi-lingual a plus
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work with demanding deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be detail oriented, thorough, accurate, and solve problems efficiently
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have good attendance and available for after hours issues.
Education:- Minimum high school diploma or GED
