Job Summary
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Air Import Coordinator to join our dynamic Air team within the freight-forwarding industry. As an Air Import Coordinator you will be responsible for managing day-to-day air import operations, ensuring timely, efficient, and compliant handling of inbound shipments. You will serve as a key liaison among customers, overseas agents, carriers, and customs brokers to deliver high-quality service and operational excellence within the freight forwarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of air import shipments — from pre-alert to final delivery.
  • Communicate with overseas partners, airlines, and clients to confirm bookings, arrange documentation, and track shipments.
  • Review and prepare import documents including airway bills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and arrival notices.
  • Arrange and monitor customs clearance through coordination with customs brokers and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure all operations comply with TSA, CBP, and other applicable U.S. government regulations.
  • Update and maintain shipment data in the company’s logistics system accurately and in real time.
  • Handle billing, cost entry, and customer invoicing in accordance with company procedures.
  • Proactively address service issues, shipment delays, and discrepancies while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to provide rate quotes, delivery timelines, and operational support.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in air import operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in air import operations within a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, import documentation, and freight forwarding procedures.
  • Proficient with logistics software (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, Descartes) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-up.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
