Job Summary
Job Summary: Supervises all aspects of corrosion control and treatment and aircraft painting. Supervises paint removal, painting, other corrosion control requirements, and finishing duties on aircraft, equipment, and aerospace vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise corrosion control staff, which includes reviewing employee performance, addressing personnel issues, generating assignments, and setting priorities
- Supervises the assessment of corrosion and selection of treatment corrects corrosion problems within established timeframes and minimizes future repair work for the same or related problem area. Promptly documents corroded or repaired areas on the structure historical log.
- Manages and selects proper equipment and materials to restore damaged metal surfaces to bring area back to original depth and color with minimum rework required.
- Follows up established shop procedures in assisting with the evaluation of surface conditions and restoring damaged surfaces. Mixes, thins, blends, matches, tints and tones coating materials.
- Review work orders regarding modifications and/or upgrades to aircraft systems.
- Ensures that the corrosion staffs comply with safety rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work area. Maintains awareness of shop safety procedures and identifies any observed unsafe practices and/or procedures.
- Facilitates the supervision of scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, servicing, launch and recovery, corrosion control, and inspection, and routine through complex maintenance of aircraft, aircraft sub- systems, and components, as required.
- Provide guidance and instruction to team members concerning technical orders, checklists, and hazardous materials.
- Monitor all supply issues affecting the Corrosions Control Shop
- Keeps an eye on whether emergency response details are posted and whether supplies and equipment are readily available. Controls Regarding Work
- Has responsibility for determining methods, techniques, materials, and devices best suited to obtain smooth-textured and decorative surfaces, ensuring that surface coating meet level and thickness.
- Performs all other duties assigned by Production Superintendent.
Job Requirements
Qualifications / Licenses:
- High School Or Diploma
- Formal training in corrosion control techniques and treatments.
Work Experience:
- Requires minimum of six(6) years' experience corrosion control and aircraft painting.
