Under general supervision, performs complex or specialized accounting functions in accordance with established accounting procedures. Analyzes reports and data. Provides advice concerning accounting and financial data preparation. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. Three years of full-time paid accounting experience, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity, required. (Substitution: Two years of accounting experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.) Individual must be computer literate and have knowledge of various computerized accounting software packages.

Preferred Qualifications:-

Duties & Responsibilities
The Accountant IV assists in drafting and monitoring the annual operating and program budgets for various airport divisions. Analyze monthly expenditures against set budgets to identify trends or overspending. Process invoices, code financial documents correctly for requisitions, and ensure all documents are ready for internal/external audits. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements. Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. Support internal controls and recommend process improvements. Review interdepartmental charges for accuracy. Track utility expenditures across the airport’s campus and monitor for irregularities. Communicate with external vendors regarding accounts payable and assist internal customers with payable procedures. Work as the petty cash custodian for the department and adhere to its policies and procedures.
